Briefs: District 300 bars nepotism

The Community Unit District 300 school board approved a policy this week that aims to prevent district employees from supervising family members who also work for the district. The policy codifies what is already district policy, officials said. Under the language the board approved, employees who would otherwise be working under a family member would be transferred to another building or be assigned a different supervisor. "We have a lot of related people working in this district," board Secretary Anne Miller said. "We really try to not have someone do an evaluation on someone they're related to."
