"Arsenic & Old Lace" at 7 p.m. Oct. 19, 20 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at St. Charles East High School, 1020 Dunham Road. Directed by Bridget Kancler. Originally performed on Jan. 10, 1941, on Broadway, this rendition focuses on two spinster aunts who poison people in hope of giving them a rewarding after life.

The cast includes Nick Ametangelo, Kevin Berls, Anne Church, Caitlin Ewald, Esther-Farler Westphal, Luke Fitzgerald, Greyson Havens-Morris, Katherine Hemming, Kory Horstman, Will Kazda, Greg Marchuk, Trevor Marchuk, Stephanie Nordlund, Ryan Otto, Josh Rasmussen, Amanda Rogowski, Kat Tactikos, Ty Warden, Molly Wagner and Mac Willaert.

"Mid-Life! The Crisis Musical" at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles. Show times through Nov. 3 are 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 5 and 8:30 p.m. Saturdays, with 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 13.

This is a wacky musical structured as a series of vignettes built around original songs about the inevitable process of aging.

"The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow", performing as part of this year's BatFest line-up. This family-friendly show is only performed for one weekend, Oct. 26-28, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Albright Theatre Company, on the third floor of the Batavia Government Center, 100 N. Island Ave.

In this timeless story, will Ichabod lose his heart to the lovely Katrina or will he lose his head to the mysterious Horseman said to haunt the woods of the tiny village?

Taking the leads as Ichabod and Brom Bones are Steve Polous of Aurora and Lance Ostagzenski of Batavia. Katrina Syrris of South Elgin will play Katrina Van Tassel. The rest of the ensemble includes Batavia residents Kara Oakerblad, Jade Gomez, Deanna Oakerblad, Geneva resident Lauren Ginn, Hannah Krusinger of Naperville, DeWayne Logan from Bartlett and Eric Polous of Aurora. Reprising his role from last year as the Headless Horseman is Lance Adams of St. Charles.

This year's production will be co-directed by Veronica Krystal, recent graduate of the UIC theater department, and Ben Richards, who played Ichabod last year and recently was accepted into a Meisner study program in California.

"Forever Plaid" runs at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 4 at Steel Beam Theater, 111 W. Main St., St. Charles.

This is the story of The Plaids, a 1950s singing group singing such hits as "Moments to Remember'" and "Three Coins in a Fountain."

"The Blue Room" depicts a chain of 10 encounters played by an ensemble cast.
