Addison Center for the Arts to host fall program
For members of the Addison Center for the Arts, every day is a reason to celebrate creativity.
So when Illinois Arts Week comes around, they organize something extraordinary.
In honor of the week dedicated to arts, which continues through Saturday, the center will host its second annual "Fall into the Arts" program Wednesday in the Addison Village Hall rotunda.
The event will showcase about 50 works of art created by students who attend Addison elementary and high schools.
"We want to let the public know how much talent we have in our community," said Annette Leiber, president of the Center for the Arts.
Visitors on Wednesday can purchase works created by the children and also can learn about arts center membership.
The fundraiser also will include food and music, and proceeds will benefit the arts center's mission to create a permanent home for performances and arts education.
Leiber said the center is working with DuPage High School District 88 to secure a permanent space within Addison Trail High School.
"We've been working on this project for many years, and finally our efforts are coming to fruition," Leiber said.
"This will give the community time to get together with members of the board and other people who are interested in sharing our mission," she said.
