Needed health care services for Aurora
Planned Parenthood is the most trusted organization in the country for reproductive health care. Planned Parenthood has provided services to the Chicago area for 60 years. Planned Parenthood is a nonprofit health care provider and is committed to providing free or affordable services to low-income people who might not otherwise be able to afford reproductive health services.
Women need a convenient, trusted place to go to receive comprehensive, quality services. The Planned Parenthood Center in Aurora will provide medical services, education, counseling and advocacy programs. The preventive services Planned Parenthood provides does more to promote responsible family planning and prevent the need for abortion than protesters ever will.
There are many reasons why Aurora, and the surrounding communities, need this Planned Parenthood center. Aurora is one of the fastest growing communities in Illinois, and the availability of reproductive health care has not increased at the same pace, particularly for low-income women and teens. There is a need for STD testing and treatment in the region, as well as for education and access to health care for teens. Did you know that Illinois ranks 18th in the country for teen birth rates? Or that Illinois has the sixth highest reported AIDS cases among all 50 states and Illinois ranks third for the number of cases of chlamydia and gonorrhea in the nation?
The facility in Aurora will provide much needed reproductive health care services for the community. We need to support this facility for the health of Illinois women.
