Great cooperation in storm cleanup

In the aftermath of the Aug. 23 F-1 tornado, the unincorporated areas of Milton Township experienced the worst storm damage in living memory. The township highway department completed the last of its storm debris cleanup on Sept. 21.

I would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this difficult time. I would also like to extend my thanks to all those who pitched in to help Milton Township in its time of need; particularly the highway commissioners and departments of the townships of Addison, Downers Grove, Lisle, Naperville, Wayne, Winfield and York, as well as the villages of Lombard and Addison, all of whom assisted my hardworking crews with manpower and equipment. We even enjoyed the help of Milton Township's CERT Team and other citizen volunteers and the cooperation of the city of Wheaton.

This cooperative effort is a great example of what intergovernmental cooperation and community spirit and involvement can accomplish. Thank you all.
