Briefs: Nursing home to be renovated

NAPERVILLE -- Alden of Naperville Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, a 203-bed nursing home, has gained a $19.2 million FHA-insured first mortgage loan to refinance and fund substantial improvements. The mortgage was issued through Cambridge Realty Capital Cos. Cambridge Chairman Jeffrey A. Davis said the funding package includes an 18-month interest-only construction loan plus a 40-year fully-amortizing permanent loan.

Arthur Gallagher buys BIS Insurance

ITASCA -- Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. on Thursday announced the acquisition of BIS Insurance Services, Inc. based in Sacramento, Calif. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Founded in 1979, BIS Insurance Services is an employee benefits insurance brokerage. Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is an insurance brokerage and risk management services firm headquartered in Itasca.

Graphix invests $2.25 million

WEST CHICAGO --Graphix Products recently invested $2.25 million in commercial printing equipment. The family-owned West Chicago-based Graphix Products upgrades doubled the company's mailing and fulfillment capacity with video jet addressing and inserters, the company said.
