Top-ranked teams unchanged for 2nd straight week
For the second consecutive week there were no changes among No. 1s in The Associated Press high school football state rankings.
In Class 8A, Mount Carmel (6-0) remained No. 1. Naperville North (6-0) moved up to No. 2.
In 7A, Rolling Meadows (6-0) and Lake Zurich (5-1) remained as the respective Nos. 1 and 2 for the sixth consecutive week.
In 6A, Normal Community (6-0) stayed No. 1 and Joliet Catholic (5-1) stayed at No. 2. Chatham Glenwood (5-1) returned to the ranks at No. 10.
In 5A, Marian Central (6-0) and Montini (6-0) retained the respective 1 and 2 positions. They'll meet Friday in Woodstock. Sterling (5-1) rejoined the ranks at No. 10.
In 4A, Driscoll (6-0) stayed at No. 1 and Mount Carmel (6-0) at No. 2. Driscoll will visit Aurora Central Catholic (1-5) this week and close the regular season at Marian Central and against Montini.
St. Joseph-Ogden (6-0) retained the No. 1 position in 3A. Plano (6-0) stayed at No. 2. Aurora Christian (6-0) joined the list at No. 10.
In 2A, Morrison (6-0) stayed No. 1 and Westville No. 2.
In 1A, Tuscola (6-0) and Dakota (6-0) retained the respective top two positions.
