Support the troops; bring them home

So once again, the irresponsible Republicans and Joe Lieberman have voted not to support our troops. The Senate vote came up short by four votes, which would have allowed our troops adequate time at home before being sent back to the civil war in Iraq. It is apparent that this administration, which claims to be responsible, is just buying time and shifting this mess to its successor. And John Warner endorsed this proposal before voting against it? Has anyone really believed the Republicans ever supported our troops?

To those of you who have enlisted, we greatly appreciate your service. To those of you who claim to support the troops while doing nothing, your hypocrisy has been evident. The least you could do is enlist or possibly give a portion of your tax cuts to assist the troops. But the only way to support the troops is to bring them home. No one should be used as pawns in this debacle over oil.

Also, the president has given himself a grade of "A" for his tax cuts and properly managing the federal budget? That belongs on the comics page. But being a typical Republican, he's taking credit for keeping tax revenues down while expenditures are skyrocketing. The "responsibility" president has shifted fiscal responsibility to future presidencies.
