Man wanted in out-of-state homicide
A Mount Prospect man was arrested in connection with a Massachusetts homicide, officials said Tuesday.
Cook County sheriff's police arrested Anh Vu Nguyen, 20, at 1828 W. Magnolia Lane around 9 a.m. Monday after getting a tip from Massachusetts State Police that he may be in the area, sheriff's office spokeswoman Penny Mateck said.
Nguyen was living with a relative in Mount Prospect and working at a family-owned nail salon in Elk Grove Village, Mateck said.
He was wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting in Suffolk County, Mass., Mateck said.
Nguyen waived extradition, so he will be transported back to Massachusetts within the next several days, Mateck said.
Further details about Nguyen's alleged involvement in the homicide or how long police have been looking for him were not available late Tuesday.
