Accident victim still unidentified

The identity of a man killed while crossing the street in Wheaton is unknown nearly three days after his death.

The DuPage County coroner's office confirmed the death of a man hit while crossing Geneva Road near Main Street in Wheaton. The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Friday when the man was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Geneva Road.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency workers at 9:42 p.m. Preliminary autopsy results indicated multiple traumatic injuries as the cause of death.

Wheaton police are investigating the identity of the man. Police expect to release a physical description of the victim today.
