Teen picked for select travel team
Parker Asmann of Hawthorn Woods was recently named to the Travel Ball Select USA 14-U All-American Team. Parker was one of just 18 players nationally recognized for this honor and one of only two players selected for the second consecutive year.
Parker was one of the top players on Russ Gangler's Schaumburg Seminoles 14-U travel baseball team that competes on a national level. The Seminoles finished the year with an impressive 69-15 record, repeated as the Illinois State Champions, finished in the top 10 at the Elite 24 World Series in Orlando and were recognized as one of the top baseball programs in the country.
"Parker once again proved he was one the elite players across the country," Gangler said.
Parker led the Seminoles' talented pitching staff with 13 wins, two of which came during the Elite 24 World Series.
Parker was also one of the Seminoles' top hitters, finishing the year with a .433 batting average.
