Police beat

• A Rockford woman was accused of shoplifting at 7:15 a.m. Thursday at Meijer, 400 Randall Road, police said. Erindira Rodriguez, 54, of 4408 Grinnell, was charged with retail theft, police said. Her bond was set at $100. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on Rodriguez, who will have to face its immigration charge first.

Carpentersville

• A Carpentersville man was accused of drunken driving at 1:45 a.m. Friday, police said. Javier P. Rodriguez, 26, of 5 Ash St., was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance after 0.99 grams of cocaine was found, police said. Rodriguez also was cited for speeding, driving while license suspended, no insurance and illegal transportation of alcohol, police said. Rodriguez was previously convicted of driving under the influence, officials said. Rodriguez was held in the Kane County jail on $5,000 bond with an Oct. 15 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

East Dundee

• A downstate man was accused of drunken driving at 8:15 p.m. Thursday after a witness told police that his white GMC truck had hit road barricades on Route 72, police said. Christopher Kelly, 37, of 124 Autumnwood Lane, Davis Junction, Ill., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol concentration of .08 or more, drunken driving, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and disobeying an officer, police said. Kelly posted $100 and his driver's license and was given an Oct. 18 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Elgin

• An Elgin man was accused of holding a woman against her will at 12:30 a.m. Friday on the 400 block of Hastings Street, police said. Arturo Bazar, 22, of 909 McLean Blvd., Apt. 9, was charged with unlawful restraint and two counts of domestic battery, police said. Bazar posted a $500 bond and was given an Oct. 12 is on at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Huntley

• Rods and reels and fishing tackle worth about $2,500 were stolen from a stored boat on Sept. 20 in a lot near the 11200 block of East Main Street.

South Elgin

• A 22-year-old West Chicago man suffered minor injuries and was accused of drunken driving at 8 p.m. Thursday after he clipped a dump truck and then crashed head on into a semitrailer truck on Route 25 north of Kenyon Road, police said. Marcos Bolanos-Solis, 22, of 516 Carriage Way, Apt. 3A, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, improper lane use, disobeying a no passing zone and driving in the wrong lane, police said. Bolanos-Solis was treated and released from Sherman Hospital. He has since posted bond and was released from the Kane County jail.

• Two 17-year-olds were arrested at 5:30 p.m. Thursday after they were seen shoplifting on a security camera at Kohl's Department Store, 350 Randall Road, police said. Kelsey Zacagnini, of 2085 Lily Pond, South Elgin and Ashley Vandermast of 1376 Maroon Drive, Elgin, were charged with retail theft, police said. They were accused of taking a shirt top and underclothing, according to a report. Both teens posted $100 bonds and were released. They have Nov. 19 court dates in Elgin.
