Editorial writers lazy, not too bright

I have better things to do than write you, but somebody has to tell you that your editorial writers are lazy as well as none too bright.

Example No. 1:

Your editorial says Illinois should not inconvenience alleged traffic offenders by taking the driver's license. One phone call to any police department would have informed you folks that the offender can post cash or an insurance bond card instead of his driver's license.

Wake up! Many offenders don't want to post anything so as to avoid going to court and paying a fine. Yes, a warrant will be issued, but the cops (bless 'em) don't have the manpower to hunt down offenders.

Doing things your way would substantially reduce revenue! End result: The taxpayers get stuck!

Example No. 2:

You say do not give casinos an exemption regarding smoking. Your feeble excuse: The workers will suffer.

When the tax revenue drops by hundreds of millions of dollars because business falls off, some workers may well lose their jobs and the taxpayers will suffer (again) as well.

I plan to propose a special tax on newspaper employees to close the gap. Why, that would be unconstitutional you say? So is the smoking ban on a legitimate business. No, I am not a smoker.

Let's try to present matters a little better, shall we?
