Carpentersville
• A Carpentersville man was arrested late Monday, accused of snatching a woman's wallet containing $220 on June 20, police said. Antwan McKinney, 34, of 3 Oxford #7, was charged with robbery, police said. McKinney was held in the Kane County jail on $1,500 bond with an Oct. 5 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• A Carpentersville man was arrested by police Monday on a warrant for an offense dating back to May 21, 2006, police said. Arnold Zuniga, 10 Cardinal Lane, was charged with knowingly damaging property on the 200 block of Riversview Drive. Zuniga was held in the Carpentersville lockup on $500 bond with a Sept. 28 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
Elgin
• An Elgin woman was stopped at 2:45 p.m. Monday on the 100 block of Kimball Street after officers spotted a bottle of beer sticking out of her purse. She was accused of falsely identifying herself, police said. Nichole L. DeVaughn, 274 Franklin Ave., was charged with felony obstruction of justice, police said. DeVaughn also was wanted on a Seminole County, Fla., warrant citing her with grand theft auto, officials said. DeVaughn was held in the Kane County jail on $50,000 bond with an Oct. 11 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• A Elgin man who gave police a wrong birth date was arrested at 5:15 p.m. Monday at Addison and Gifford streets, police said. Luis Landa, 21, of 406 Addison St., was charged with felony obstruction of justice, police said. Landa also was wanted on an Elgin warrant for failing to appear in court on a charge of driving without a license, police said. Landa was held in the Kane County jail on bonds totaling $700 with court dates Sept. 28 in Elgin and Oct. 11 in St. Charles.
• A 24-year-old resident of the 500 block of Addison Street fell victim to a scam Monday. He said he received a letter on Sept. 17 from Excel & Precision Imaging Solutions from Canada along with a check for $2,953.32. The letter stated he had won a vacation, suggested he cash the check and then wire $2,840 to New York. He cashed the check and wired the money, only to find out later that the check was fraudulent.
• Four propane tanks valued at $1,215 were stolen between Sept. 21 and Sept. 24 from the 1500 block of High Point Drive.
• A stainless steel dishwasher and a stainless steel microwave, together valued at $2,200, were stolen between Sept. 21 and Sept. 24 from a home under construction on the 300 block of Shadow Hill Drive.
South Elgin
• An employee of Target, 530 Randall Road, South Elgin, was seen on video voiding out $289.91 of a $303.83 sale for a relative, police said. Larissa Guerrero, 18, of 875 Columbine Drive, Elgin, was charged with felony retail theft, police said. Guerrero posted a $500 bond Tuesday and was given an Oct. 11 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
