Man gets four years in sex, burglary cases

A Mundelein man was sentenced to four years in prison for having sex with an underage girl and violating his probation from an earlier burglary conviction.

Nathan Snow, 23, pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated criminal sexual abuse during the hearing before Circuit Judge John Phillips.

At the same time, Phillips revoked Snow's probation from a 2004 conviction for a series of car burglaries in Vernon Hills. Phillips sentenced Snow to a total of four years for both cases.

Assistant State's Attorney Catherine Waldeck said a 16-year-old Mundelein girl was among the guests at a July 2 party Snow hosted at his home at 606 S. Lake St., Apt. B.

People at the party were playing drinking games, Waldeck said, and Snow and the girl wound up having sex during the gathering.

Police were notified July 17 after the girl told a friend what had happened.

At the time, Snow was serving a sentence of four years' probation for breaking into four cars in Vernon Hills and stealing $2,300 worth of property.

He pleaded guilty to burglary June 2, 2004 and was sentenced Sept. 9 of that year. Phillips also sentenced Snow to 180 days in jail and ordered him to make full restitution to the victims.
