Free yourself from yard work at Remington Grove

Remington Homes offers another housing option at Remington Grove, a community of ranch and two-story single-family homes in Johnsburg.

The Elgin-based builder has introduced six ranch and two-story townhouse models that offer from 1,255 to 2,020 square feet of living space. These two- and three-bedroom townhouses with a loft are base-priced from $209,900 to $249,900.

"We've designed these maintenance-free townhouses for folks who would rather spend their free time enjoying the nearby state parks, lakes and forest preserves instead of raking leaves and mowing the lawn," says sales manager Toni Schulz.

The floor plans and square footage are designed to appeal to a wide range of buyers. The 1,255-square-foot Barclay is a ranch with two bedrooms and 1½ baths, an eat-in kitchen and great room.

The largest townhouse is the 2,020-square-foot Stafford, which has a great room, kitchen with island and breakfast nook, first floor den, and two bedrooms, two baths and a loft. This townhouse has a flexible floor plan with options that include a third bedroom, formal dining room and luxury master bath.

Two of the six townhouses feature a first-floor master suite.

The 1,706-square-foot Monroe is a new floor plan that features a first-floor master suite with a full bath and walk-in closet plus a secondary bedroom, full bath and loft on the second floor. There is also a third full bath next to the den that has an option to be used as a bedroom.

The Monroe also has a first-floor laundry room, living room, dining room and kitchen.

The 18 single-family models in Remington's Ranch, Classic and Tradition series are base-priced from $267,900 to $356,900. The builder has reprised the architectural styles that prevailed in small towns like Johnsburg in the early 20th century in these three- and four-bedroom homes.

The homes in both single-family series have traditional Midwestern or Craftsman-style exteriors with covered entries and larger interiors. Standard features include 9-foot first-floor ceilings, rounded drywall corners, art niches and arched passageways (in some plans), six-panel painted doors and trim, custom-designed kitchens with 30-inch wall cabinets with crown molding and appliances, and three-car garage (in some plans).

An anti-monotony code and staggered setbacks give Remington Grove the feel of a custom community. One-quarter to one-half acre sites on curved streets in rolling terrain allow for partial, walkout and lookout basements on select sites.

Remington Grove is adjacent to a conservation area that is being developed for recreational use. This open space includes woodlands, wetlands and creeks. Adams Park, a McHenry Township facility that features playing fields for a wide range of sports, borders the community.

Remington Grove is located two miles north of Route 120 on Route 31 where you can visit the models in the Ranch, Classic and Tradition Series of single-family homes. There are also three single-family homes available for immediate delivery. Take an online tour of all these homes by visiting www.remington-homes.com.
