Lastovich makes big impression for Grens

Hersey 2, Buffalo Grove 2: After goals from Mike Madsen and Alex Garadasevic, the Huskies had to settle for an MSL East draw with host BG. Hersey keeper Chris Hoffman stopped 6 shots. Frank Atchison scored twice for the Bison while keeper Mike McEvoy made 11 saves.
Fremd 3, Conant 2: The host Vikings (3-5) had 2 goals from Robert Hurwitz with Michael Ballschmiede scoring the game-winner in the MSL West. Tim Holmer and Zach Raetzman scored for the Cougars.
Barrington 4, Palatine 2:ŒA hat trick by Francesco Furio helped the visiting Broncos (10-1) to an MSL West win over the Pirates. Keeper Jack Deroche kept Barrington in it with 8 saves.
Schaumburg 3, Hoffman 1: The host Saxons spread out their scoring with goals by Josh Beard, Wesley Hollis and Tim Piotrowski to go ahead 3-0 in an MSL West win against the Hawks. Sishun Zerihun scored a PK for the Hawks with 7:33 left.
Leyden 2, York 2: Eddie Adame and Rafal Zalewski scored for the host Eagles in the second half of a 2-2 West Suburban crossover tie with York. Gerardo Franco saved 8 for Leyden (5-5-4).
Boys golf
Rolling Meadows (150) rose above its MSL triangular with Hoffman Estates (155) and Prospect (161). Dan Alsup led the Mustangs with a 35 while teammates Ryan Flubacker and Chris Olson turned in 38s. With 37s, Max Martin led the Hawks and Ben Delaney led the Knights.
• Co-medalist Ryan O'Connell led Maine West, which lost to Glenbrook North 158-163 in the Central Suburban North.
Girls golf
Through four golfers, Hersey and Fremd were tied 201-201. After a fifth score tiebreaker, a 54 shot by Megan Rogowski, the win went to the Huskies. Medalist Catherine Park shot a 38 for Hersey. Kelly Voigt led the Vikings with a 45.
• Palatine edged Resurrection 187-188. Amy Vojta (40) and Kelli Burke's (42) consistency led the Pirates.
