Woman pleads guilty to theft charge
A Palos Heights woman accused of stealing money from a Schaumburg company pleaded guilty to the charge Monday.
Renata M. Noworul, 35, of 9739 S. 90th Ave., was sentenced to four years in prison, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office. The judge granted her credit for 69 days in jail.
Noworul also will have to pay back the $343,767.27 she took from Laird Technologies in Schaumburg, according to the state's attorney's office.
Noworul was charged last September with theft after police said she took the money while she worked in the human resources/payroll department of Laird Technologies.
Police said Noworul wrote about 300 checks between August 2003 and June 2006 to herself and her husband. The company began investigating her last July.
