Event will let you see Blackberry Creek homes

Real estate agents and property owners are hoping to jump start home sales in Elburn's Blackberry Creek subdivision by hosting a special event this coming Thursday.

More than 25 homes within the subdivision that are currently on the market will be featured in "Twilight Tours."

The event will give potential home buyers the opportunity to see properties that are available within Blackberry Creek, both new construction and resale.

"The homeowners, Realtors and B&B Development are all hoping for a successful event in this tough market time," wrote Janice Burke of ReMax Specialists in a letter to Elburn village leaders.

"What they're trying to do is get some action in there to increase sales," explained Elburn Building Commissioner Jim Stran.

Twenty real estate agents are expected to participate in the event, which will take place from 5 to 7 p.m.

During that time, refreshments will be served and visitors will have the opportunity to fill out a form at each home they visit for a drawing to win a new home computer. The drawing will take place at 1358 Bead Ave. at the end of the evening.

"This is a lot nicer than someone visiting a subdivision opening," explaned Burke. "They're going to be able to look at 25 plus homes in one evening."

There are currently 64 homes on the market within the Blackberry Creek subdivision, at an average asking price of $422,000.

On average a home within the subdivision is on the market for 232 days.

The Blackberry Creek Subdivision is located on the southeast corner of Route 47 and Keslinger Road in Elburn.
