$10,000 reward offered in road rage case

Comcast is offering a reward of up to $10,000 to catch the men involved in the shooting of one of its technicians Aug. 21 in Mount Prospect.

The shooting, which occurred on Prospect Avenue near Edward Street, was the result of what has been called a road rage incident.

Mount Prospect police officer William Roscop said the technician's truck was being tailed by a black, late-model two-door Honda Civic with a rear spoiler.

Police said the Honda's driver was honking and gesturing for the technician to pull over. Both vehicles stopped, and the drivers soon were embroiled in an argument. When the passenger of the Honda exited his car, the technician turned to get back in his vehicle but was shot in the arm.

The victim was treated for his injuries and released.

"At Comcast, the safety of our employees is our top priority," said Comcast Area Vice President Brian Sullivan. "We want to do everything we can to support the Mount Prospect police in apprehending those involved in this assault on our co-worker."

Mount Prospect police have described the offenders as men in their late 20s or early 30s, 5-foot-7-inches to 5-foot-9 inches tall and of medium build. Both had short black hair and were clean-shaven.

"We appreciate Comcast's offering this reward," Police Chief John Dahlberg said. "We hope the reward will prompt people with knowledge about this incident to share information and to help us bring those responsible to justice."
