Motorcycle ride to benefit Assisi Animal Foundation
Assisi Animal Foundation's third annual Cruisin' for Critters, a motorcycle run to benefit the work of the foundation, will hit the road on Sunday.
The day also honors Dean Knospe, a former Assisi Animal Foundation board member, who was died in a hit and run accident. Knospe was an ardent motorcycle fan and an outstanding citizen of Crystal Lake.
The run starts and finishes at Miss Kitty's, 1101 Grant Highway, Route 20, in Marengo. Come for "coffee-and" during registration at 11:30 a.m. at Miss Kitty's.
Registration is $20 for drivers and $5 for passengers.
The event's proceeds help operate the foundation's no-kill shelter, which houses both cats and dogs awaiting new homes. The foundation also serves the community with its animal-assisted therapy program, which provides visits to residents of retirement center, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
