Man killed in Crystal Lake crash

A man was killed in Crystal Lake this morning on Route 14 at Rockland Drive in an accident between a car and a motorcycle, police said.

The man riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead on the scene. The male driver and the passengers of the car were not hurt.

Traffic on Route 14 was diverted for more than two hours after the accident.

Police have not released the name of the motorcycle rider because his family is still being notified.

No charges or citations have been issued. Crystal Lake police, the McHenry County Coroner's Office and the McHenry County State's AttorneyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s office are investigating the crash.

At 9:40 a.m., a westbound, black 1994 Infiniti J30 and an eastbound, black 1992 Suzuki Intruder motorcycle collided while the car was trying to turn left into a private drive.
