Articles that reveal hypocrisy in Lisle

Thank you for showing us, on page 6 of the Friday, Aug. 24 DuPage County edition of the Daily Herald, just what a bunch of hypocrites run the village of Lisle.

The two articles that appeared side-by-side with Sara Hooker's byline were excellent.

In one article titled "Big ideas for site at Ogden, Main in Lisle," which is the southeast corner of Main and Ogden), one village "official" said: "That's a tired-looking area in downtown Lisle."

Also cited in the article: "an area of downtown long considered an eyesore to village 'officials.' "

And in the ending of the article, the mayor said: "This has been on our wish list for a long time!"

Yet in the other article ("Giuliani opens state HQ in Lisle") the mayor says: "I'm excited that we have it here -- it shows recognition that Lisle must be something special."

Something special?

The address of Giuliani's headquarters is 4723 Main Street -- and all Lisle people know that the address is in "a tired-looking area in downtown Lisle, an eyesore to village "officials" and has been on village "officials" wish list for redevelopment for a long time.

Imagine that, a former New York City mayor would think so much of the village of Lisle that he would make it the state's campaign hub --in a tired-looking area in downtown Lisle, an eyesore to village "officials" and right in the very same spot where it has been on the village "officials" wish list for a long time for major redevelopment.

Now who do you think should be turning red with embarrassment? The hypocrites who run the village of Lisle for putting such a prominent political figure in "a tired-looking area in downtown Lisle", an eyesore to village "officials", and in an area that has been on the village officials wish list for a long time for redevelopment?"
