Widows group to hold monthly meeting today
Movin' On, a nondenominational social group that provides a welcoming, social situation exclusively for widowed men and women in the northwest suburbs, continues its fall programs.

September events
• Meeting: 7 p.m. today. The regular monthly meeting takes place at St. Thomas of Villanova School Hall, 1141 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine. The program for this evening is titled "Coffee 101" by Paul Woyat, owner and founder of Beaner's Cafe. He will share information about how coffee is grown, picked and sorted. Enjoy the presentation, conversation and refreshments of hot dogs, chips and soft drinks. Cost for the evening is $5 per person.
• Dinner: Sept. 22, 5 p.m. cocktails and 6 p.m. dinner at Moretti's Ristorante, 1893 Walden Office Square, Schaumburg. Entree choices are chicken parmesan, $21; shrimp scampi capellini, $24; tour of Naples, $25; or penne chicken asiago, $19.50. Cost includes soup or salad, beverage, tax and tip. • Happy Hour: 5 p.m. Sept. 28 at The Brass Restaurant and Brewery, 105 Hollywood Blvd., South Barrington. Meet on the outdoor patio.
Membership to Movin' On is limited to widows and widowers. Prospective members are welcome to attend one activity before joining the organization.
Membership dues are $5 annually which covers the cost of the newsletter.
