Buy your own trees? As trustees discussed a tree replacement program at the Monday Buffalo Grove village board meeting, Trustee Steve Trilling suggested also offering residents the chance to buy trees.
The village is working with a company to get trees replaced at a cost of $316 each. Trilling said that may be a reasonable enough price to open the program up to the community since some residents might want to supplement the trees that the village is already buying. The village will look to see if that's feasible in the future.
Celebration for Max: Canavan Research Illinois will host a charity ball Oct. 13 at the Hyatt Deerfield at 1750 Lake Cook Road.
The event will raise money for the charity and also honor Max Randell, a 10-year-old from Buffalo Grove with Canavan disease.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. and include dinner and a raffle.
