Here's a solution to shopper's woes

Maybe Penny Novy should shop at 2 a.m.( "Let's try shopping in logical shifts," Fence Post, Sept. 6). She whines that older people are in her way when she is on the road. Penny thinks that since they are retired they shouldn't eat or shop at times inconvenient to her. I believe the point of retirement is to do what you want when you want to.

Then she had the nerve to insult every hard-working, stay-at-home mom for bringing their tired children to the grocery store. There is no doubt in my mind that every mother would rather grocery shop alone, but that is not always feasible.

Poor Penny; old people are in her way, and children annoy her. Here is a solution to her problem: Pack a sack lunch and order through Peapod. Then nobody has to deal with her either.
