Little revealed in Hanover Park woman's death

Few answers were revealed Friday as the investigation continued into the death of a 41-year-old Hanover Park woman found in a Bloomingdale forest preserve.

Lisa Prodzenski was discovered early Wednesday by authorities in the Meacham Grove Forest Preserve, a day after she was reported missing.

The DuPage County coroner's office, which conducted an autopsy Thursday, has said foul play is not suspected. Results are pending toxicology reports.

But a spokeswoman for the DuPage County sheriff's office, which is investigating the death, would only say Friday that the agency continues to probe the death and would not say if foul play has been ruled out.

There's also been confusion as to which agency is leading the investigation.

The sheriff's office first referred all inquiries to the Hanover Park police. But Hanover Park Police Chief Ron Moser had said that the missing persons case was concluded, so his department was "basically out of it."

Deputy Chief Mark Gatz wouldn't confirm on whether Hanover Park was assisting in the death investigation.

No agency has revealed how Prodzenski died.

Chief Moser said the whereabouts of Prodzenski, who managed the Garden Quarter Apartments in Elgin, were accounted for Tuesday morning. A person she was living with reported her missing at 5 p.m. that day, Moser said.
