Funeral services set for storm victim

Services are scheduled for a Spring Grove man who died after being injured in last month's storms when a car wash wall in Chicago collapsed on him.

Visitation for Alec Drews, 21, will start at noon Saturday at the K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road in Fox Lake. Services at the funeral home will being at 1 p.m.

Drews died Friday when part of a car wash wall on the corner of Clark and Waveland in Wrigleyville fell and hit him.

Drews was a 2004 graduate of Grant Community High School in Fox Lake and was studying computer animation at the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center Trauma Unit, the Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department or your favorite charity. For information, call (847) 587-2100.

The Cubs -- owner of the building -- have since removed the car wash.
