Downers Grove North 35, Addison Trail 0

Downers Grove North's defense shut down visiting Addison Trail, and the Trojans' quarterback rotation took care of the rest.

Coach John Wander's use of multiple signalcallers worked to near perfection, and the Trojans (1-1) ran away to a 35-0 win.

"Each of our quarterbacks brings something different to the table," Wander said.

Andrew Orton scored twice in the first half, on a 9-yard quarterback keeper and another from 11 yards out.

"We spent all week talking about finishing in the red zone," Orton said. "Our line opened some big holes and we just hit the right seams."

Joseph Honn was at the helm for the Trojans late in the second quarter and found Arthur Gutzke across the middle for a 23-yard touchdown toss.

After running back Ryan Gresko extended the lead to 28-0 with a 38-yard third quarter touchdown run, a third Trojans quarterback, David Stachura, got into the scoring column with a 5-yard run for a touchdown.

Addison Trail (0-2) needs to find some answers after being shut out for the second week in a row.

"We've got to generate some type of offense and get our defense off the field," Addison Trail coach Paul Parpet said.
