Northbrook health club holding health screenings

As part of its commitment to promoting community health, Five Seasons Sports Club, 1300 Techny Road, Northbrook, is hosting two "Know Your Health Numbers" screenings over the next two months.

The next session is from 6:30 a.m. to noon on Sept. 20, and the third session is from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Oct. 21. The fee is $12.

The screening tests include a simple finger-prick blood test and measurements of blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose (blood sugar). Fasting for 12 hours prior to screening is recommended, but not mandatory. Results are available in one to two minutes, and values -- or the baseline figure that help indicate if someone needs additional testing -- will fluctuate based on how much fasting an individual does.
