Briefs: Grand opening set for DJM Travel

BATAVIA -- Mayor Jeffery Schielke will officiate at the ribbon cutting of DJM Travel & Cruises' new corporate office at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at 1605 W. Wilson St., Batavia. A festive, Texas-style barbecue with door prizes is planned jointly with the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. DJM Travel powers the online travel Web site DJMTravel.com. It has global buying power that provides clients the same rates found on the Web or better.

Alcatel-Lucent makes Latina Style list

MURRAY HILL, N.J. -- Alcatel-Lucent said Wednesday it has been named as one of the 50 best employers for Hispanic women in the United States by Latina Style magazine. Lucent Technologies, which merged with Alcatel last December, had been included on this list the past three consecutive years. More than 1,000 companies participated in this year's application process. Alcatel-Lucent has offices in Naperville and Lisle.
