Bridge at Cenacle is up to standard
In an article about the sale of the Warrenville Cenacle in your paper on Aug. 21, reporter James Fuller quoted Warrenville Mayor David Brummel as saying our bridges and other infrastructure aren't up to many modern standards. It is true that we have been grandfathered in in some ways, but I would like to correct the statement in regard to bridges.
In 2002, the Cenacle Sisters spent almost $300,000 to replace the bridge over the West Bank of the DuPage river. It was torn down completely and rebuilt to look just as it had before using rustproof steel and treated wooden beams. It should last another 100 years.
