Teen programs

The Cary Area Public Library has announced several young adult programs.

Early Release Guitar Hero Open: Guitar Hero Open is for high school students and will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at the library. Registration is not required. Admission and pizza are free.

Young Adult Gaming Club: Attention gamers in seventh to 12th grades, Cary Area Public Library is in the process of forming a gaming club, but we need advice about games, tournaments and the new library collection. Bring your ideas and opinions from 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at the library. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Admission is free and registration is not required.

Teen Advisory Board: Help make the Cary Area Public Library be what you want it to be. Students in seventh through 12th grades can join the Teen Advisory Board and suggest new programs and materials, help the Friends of the Library with their book sales, and just hang out and have fun.

The first meeting of the school year is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 18 Registration is not required. Admission is free.

Not Your Mother's Book Club: Students in seventh through 12th grades will eat, drink and discuss "Uglies" by Scott Westerfeld, from 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 25.
