Pack Like a Pro: Discover how to enjoy a weeklong vacation without the hassle of toting heavy luggage at 7:30 p.m. today. Al and Gail Popowits will show attendees how to travel with only a 22-inch rolling suitcase and a smaller, briefcase-sized piece of luggage (both will fit easily into an airplane's overhead compartments). The key to "packing like a pro" is knowing what to take with you and -- more importantly -- what to leave at home. To register, visit www.mppl.org/events or call (847) 253-5675.

Fall Storytime Registration: A library storytime can be a rich and rewarding experience for young children. Research has shown that children who are exposed to books and reading greatly benefit from the experience. Storytimes enhance language development, reinforce listening skills, and encourage the use of imagination. Through Thursday, parents can register their children -- birth through age 6 -- for the library's Fall I storytime programs. This session, with a variety of times and types, will run Sept. 10 through Oct. 19. Due to the popularity of these storytimes, the library uses a lottery system to determine registration and reserves this program for Mount Prospect cardholders. Register in person at the Youth Services desk. For more information, call (847) 253-5675.

Business Program for Budding Entrepreneurs: Kriss D. Knowles, director for Elgin College's Small Business Development Center, will present an informational program designed for those who dream of starting their own business at 7 p.m. Thursday.

During the program, Knowles will discuss what entrepreneurs should consider before deciding to begin a business and outline common pitfalls to avoid. Participants will also learn more about the many resources available to help plan a new business.
