A way to help May Whitney
A parent-teacher organization fundraiser for Lake Zurich's May Whitney Elementary School will be held today at Yogi's Pizza, 830 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich. May Whitney School has been closed indefinitely because of recent flood damage and the discovery of mold and asbestos. Students, teachers and staff will be moved to the Annex building next door. Funds raised today will be used to replace school supplies and items destroyed in the PTO storage room at May Whitney by flood water. Yogi's will donate 10 percent of purchases made throughout the day to the May Whitney PTO recovery fund. A PTO representative will also stand in front of Yogi's from 5 to 10 p.m. today to ask customers for donations. Patrons can make out a check to the PTO or donate gift cards from Home Depot or Wal-Mart. Donations may also be sent to 37 Squire Road, Hawthorn Woods, IL 60047. Checks should be made payable to the May Whitney PTO Recovery Fund.
