Glendale Heights police seek Sunday night shooter
An Elgin man was shot in the chest Sunday night at a Glendale Heights apartment complex, authorities said.
Glendale Heights police Cmdr. Dennis Schar said the shooting victim was taken by Roselle paramedics to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, where he was treated and released.
"Apparently, it didn't penetrate very far," Schar said today. "It's all about the angles."
Schar wouldn't identify the victim, adding that the incident is under investigation.
Authorities are seeking a suspect in connection with the shooting.
Schar said police received a call at 6:23 p.m. of a shooting victim at 590 W. Lake Street, Roselle.
The man had been shot at Stonegate Apartments, on the 400 block of Gary Avenue, but ended up in a car with another person trying to find medical help.
"The person driving was looking for a hospital," Schar said. "When they couldn't find one, they called 911."
