German shepherd club sets deadline for trials
Lincolnwood Training Club for German Shepherd Dogs has set 6 p.m. Wednesday as its deadline to enter the Obedience and Rally Trials.
The trials will be Sept. 16 on the club grounds at Central and Dearlove roads in Glenview. Entry fees are $25 plus $10 for an additional entry of the same dog.
Obedience entries with checks made payable to the club go to Cathy Stein, Obedience Trial Secretary, 6456 N. Leroy, Lincolnwood, IL 60712. Send Rally entries with checks made payable to the club to Don Wilkinson, Rally Trial Secretary, 8527 Mango Ave., Morton Grove, IL 60053. The club will hold the next Correctional Clinic for all breeds Sept. 8 on the club grounds. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and judging at 9 a.m. Advance entry is $5 plus $4 for an additional entry of the same dog. New classes: Leash and Collar Dog Training at 238 Saunders Road, Riverwoods, has a Basic Obedience class starting at 8:45 p.m. Thursday. There also will be a puppy class at 6:30 p.m. and basic obedience at 7:45 p.m. Sept. 12. Call (847) 945-4544.
•Northwest Obedience Club will have weekday Agility classes starting Sept. 10. Saturday classes will start Sept. 8, which is a beginner/foundation class in order to get involved in Agility. •The German Shepherd Dog Training Club of Chicago has an eight-week Rally Obedience class for all breeds starting Sept. 14 in the club house at 4925 County Farm Road, Hanover Park. To register, dogs must have basic obedience skills. Mixed breeds are welcome, however, they are not eligible to participate in the American Kennel Club trials.
