Briefs: Hitachi signs lease at business park

ELGIN -- Hitachi Transportation System America signed a lease at Randall Crossings, Ryan Companies US Inc.'s business park in Elgin. Hitachi leased 72,408 square feet of space at 2700 Alft Lane, the first spec building at the site. Hitachi is a third party logistics firm that has maintained a presence in Elk Grove Village since 1992. In relocating, Hitachi is expanding its local operations to better serve customers. Randall Crossings, with 70 acres of lane, is at Randall Road and I-90.

AAR makes energy commitment deal

WOOD DALE -- AAR Corp. announced that it has purchased Renewable Energy Credits, equivalent to 100 percent of the company's purchased electricity used across their North American operations, through 2010. This landmark purchase of RECs is the largest to date by an aviation services company among Partners in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership. The purchase ensures the amount of electricity a company or an individual uses is replaced onto the power grid with renewable electricity.
