Movin' On events offer September fun
Movin' On is a nondenominational social group whose purpose is to provide a welcoming, social situation exclusively for widowed men and women in the Northwest suburbs.

September events
•Arlington Race Track: 3 p.m. Sept. 7, meeting at the new Terrace Cafe. The group will collect $2.50 per person to defray cost of the reserved tables. Admission and program is $6. Call Nina at (847) 806-7292 for reservations.
•Sunday Brunch: 10:30 a.m. Sept. 9 at Egg'Lectic restaurant, 2905 Algonquin Road, Rolling Meadows. This is a joint event with Holy Family's To Be Joyful widows' group. Reservations are not required.
•Lunch Bunch: 11 a.m. Sept. 10 at The Olive Tap in Long Grove. Enjoy a special orientation on extra-virgin oils and balsamic vinegars, followed by a guided tasting of more 35 products. Lunch will follow at The Long Grove Cafe. Call Lenore at (847) 458-9697 for reservations by Sept. 7 for the oil demonstration and lunch or lunch only.
•Meeting: 7 p.m. Sept. 13. The regular monthly meeting takes place at St. Thomas of Villanova School Hall, 1141 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine. The program for this evening is titled "Coffee 101" by Paul Woyat, owner and founder of Beaner's Cafe. He will share information about how coffee is grown, picked and sorted. Enjoy the presentation, conversation and refreshments of hot dogs, chips and soft drinks. Cost for the evening is $5 per person.
•Dinner: Sept. 22, 5 p.m. cocktails and 6 p.m. dinner at Moretti's Ristorante, 1893 Walden Office Square, Schaumburg. Entree choices are chicken parmesan, $21; shrimp scampi capellini, $24; tour of Naples, $25; or penne chicken asiago, $19.50. Cost includes soup or salad, beverage, tax and tip. •Happy Hour: 5 p.m. Sept. 28 at The Brass Restaurant and Brewery, 105 Hollywood Blvd., South Barrington. Meet on the outdoor patio.
Membership to Movin' On is limited to widows and widowers. Prospective members are welcome to attend one activity before joining the organization.
Membership dues are $5 annually which covers the cost of the newsletter.
