For youth, teens

Magnificent Math: Your child will experience the wonders of math through games and fun activities. Through this blend of interactive activities, your child's love of math will grow. Class is for children ages 3 to 5 years and is held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 11-Oct. 16 at the Community Center. Registration is $35 for residents; $53 for nonresidents.

Sensational Science: Learn something new and exciting about science. Each child will get to participate in hands-on experiments that involve the scientific world. Class is for children ages 3 to 5 years and is held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 13-Oct. 18 at the Community Center. Registration is $35 for residents; $53 for nonresidents.

Back-to-school fun: It is school time once again. Join us for an afternoon of creativity while making back to school crafts such as bookmarks and a school bus. Class if for children ages 3 to 5 years and is held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Lions Park Preschool. Registration is $10 for residents; $15 for nonresidents.

Art Full of Science: How does salt affect watercolors? Why is camouflage so important to nature?

Explore ideas, create art projects, perform experiments, and enjoy a blending of science and art in this hands-on and often messy program. A portion of the program will be held outdoors, please dress for the weather. Class is open to children ages 6 to 9 years and is held from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 20-Nov. 8 at the Community Center. Registration is $45 for residents; $68 for nonresidents.

Acting a la carte: This program is for those who would like to work on memorization and characterization without a long commitment or big production at the end. Participants will work on monologues, two person scenes and a group scene. Children will develop confidence, speaking skills, and leadership skills in this class.

The last day will be a showcase of skills presented for parents and siblings. Class is for children ages 12 to 14 years and is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 10-Oct. 1 at the Kraus Senior Center. Registration is $24 for residents; $36 for nonresidents.

For adults

Introduction to Yoga: Introduce yourself to the basics of yoga. Learn breathing techniques, basic terminology, and poses that will have you well on your way to relax, manage stress, and build a healthy body. This intro class is for people ages 12 to adult. Class meets from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 4 and Sept. 6 at the Community Center. Registration is $10 for residents; $15 for nonresidents per class.

"Fight Like A Girl" Self-Defense: A great mother-daughter program. This female only self-defense program provides valuable, hands-on experience in fighting off the "bad guy" in a unique and effective manner. Experience this life-changing program and find your inner power and fighting spirit.

No experience necessary. Class is for people age 14 and older and meets from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Community Center. Registration is $50 for residents; $75 for nonresidents per person.
