Algonquin Garden Club awards two scholarships

Lindsay Warner is attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale and continues to be on the dean's list. Her goal is to earn a bachelors degree in science, majoring in forestry with a minor in environmental studies.

Warner joined the Society of American Foresters at SIU and also has a background working in a flower shop and greenhouse. Lindsay is the daughter of Ellyn and John Warner of Algonquin.

Barbara Lindahl of Algonquin is attending McHenry County College and plans to work toward a degree in horticulture. Since she carried a full load of classes from the start, she gained respect and encouragement from everyone. Her grades and dedication to reach her goal have made her a model student, as reported by students and instructors alike.

The Scholarship Committee of the Algonquin Garden Club takes great pleasure in helping these two recipients attain their individual goals. A $1,500 check will be sent to SIU in the name of Lindsay Warner, and McHenry County College will receive a $1,500 check in the name of Barbara Lindahl. Congratulations to both of these students.

The Algonquin Garden Club is a District I club which is a member of the Garden Clubs of Illinois Inc., Central Region, National Garden Clubs Inc.
