Preparations underway for CROP Walk

The Cardunal area is getting ready for the 2007 CROP Hunger Walk.

Volunteers from the Carpentersville, Dundee and Algonquin area have been holding walks since 1986.

Twenty-five percent of the funds raised will benefit local food pantries. The CROP walk is a positive community-wide mission project.

There will be a recruiters rally at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 at Joy Community Presbyterian Church, 108 S. Lakewood Road, Lake in the Hills.

The walk will be held Oct. 14 with registration at 12:30 p.m. and the walk stepping off at 1:30 p.m. For details, call Midge Sauer, Cardunal CROP Walk chairwoman, at (847) 428-8454.
