Kane County

•Two teenagers were taken to Provena Mercy Center in Aurora after a one-car accident at Ashe and Jericho roads in Sugar Grove Township at 11:33 p.m. Friday. Driver Kycell Buck, 18, 644 West Gate Drive, Aurora, told police he lost control of his car and hit a utility pole, according to a police report. He and his passenger, Reginald S. Shipp, 18, 2021 Radcliffe Drive, Aurora, were both taken to the hospital. Buck was cited for no valid driver's license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

•An Elgin bicyclist was taken to Provena St. Joseph's Hospital after being hit by a car at 5 p.m. Aug. 13 at Burlington and McDonald roads in Plato Township. Allan M. Tomich, 59, 43W046 Brierwood Drive, went to the hospital after being hit by Thomas Reif, 46, 45W230 McDonald Road, Hampshire, according to a police report. Reif was cited for improper lane usage, police said.

•Barth A. Gardner, 34, 41W808 Empire Road, St. Charles, was charged with aggravated assault after a passing driver said Gardner threatened him and pulled a knife on him, according to a police report.

•Antique furniture valued at $7,375 was stolen from a residence on the 9N500 block of Muirhead Road in Plato Township between August 2005 and last Monday. The vacant residence had also been vandalized on the inside.

•Robert Hanson, 42W143 KeDeKa Road, Sugar Grove, was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he threatened a neighbor at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6, according to a police report.

•Valerie M. McGrath, 56, of 3N469 Town Hall Road, Elburn, was charged with DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving with an expired license after an accident at Main Street and Bunker Road in Blackberry Township at 7:13 p.m. Aug. 8, according to a police report.

•Jeffrey J. Cwick, 32, 34W338 Courier Ave., Apt. 6, St. Charles, was charged with a unlawful possession of hypodermic syringes or needles and a felony count of possession of a controlled substance after police were called to his residence at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 9, according to a police report.

•Someone ran over a mailbox on the 5N100 block of Dover Hill Road in St. Charles Township between 1:30 and 2:21 p.m. Friday. Damage was estimated at $500.

St. Charles

•Scott D. Francis, 18, of 1308 Hawkins Court, was arrested at 11 p.m. Aug. 11 and charged with underage drinking on the first block of Hunt Club Drive, police said.

•Jeffrey M. Rosier, 25, of 340 Windsor Court, South Elgin, was arrested at 2:05 p.m. Saturday and charged with retail theft after stealing a $60 pair of shoes from Famous Footwear at Charlestowne Mall, 3800 E. Main St., police said. Rosier was released on $1,000 bond with a Sept. 13 court date.
