Wine tasting to benefit animal foundation
The Assisi Animal Foundation will host its fifth annual wine tasting benefit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Woodstock Opera House, 121 Van Buren St.
The event will feature various vintages, gourmet refreshments and a silent auction of art-related items. Proceeds will benefit the foundation's no-kill animal shelter, which provides care for pets waiting for their forever homes.
The foundation provides animal-assisted therapy visits to facilities serving senior citizens as well as assisted-living facilities, centers that serve those with Alzheimer's disease and programs for youngsters with disabilities.
