Prescription for health care disaster

I knew there were naïve people in this country, but I never understood the magnitude until reading the letter from Fay Moskal of Glen Ellyn. Moskal would like everyone to believe Michael Moore is telling it like it is about universal health care and our system in his new movie. I will not dignify the movie by mentioning its name.

First, as with all Moore movies, he slants the story significantly to meet his objective. In this movie, he would like us to believe that you can go to a hospital in Cuba and get immediate assistance and walk into a drug store to pick up hard-to-get medical supplies at reduced prices.

Moskal and other Moore followers should check additional sources about how the average Cuban citizen is really processed. Although universal health care sounds nice, its historical evidence in countries like Canada have led to long delays in getting doctor assistance and receiving the necessary treatment (people have died before getting their treatment).

For these long delays, the people of these countries gain the benefit of paying a high price monetarily while risking their lives.

The health care system in the U.S. is not perfect, but I am not willing to let the government take more money from my pocket and manage health care. After all the government, throughout the history of the U.S., has proven to be incapable of managing any program efficiently.

People like Fay Moskal are willing to risk their health and life on the government; not I. If anything, this government should focus its efforts on finding ways to control frivolous lawsuits that lawyers collect big on and the insurance companies have to pay out on. This would be a large step in controlling cost from the insurance companies, to where they may provide more acceptable rates so more U.S. citizens can obtain the insurance they need.

Stop drinking the Kool-Aid and expand your knowledge on this issue before expounding it on the rest of us.
