Lisle man accused of sexually assaulting ex-girlfriend
A 31-year-old Lisle man is accused of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend, police said Thursday.
Maurico J. Collins of 4945 Keller St., Apt. 204, was arrested Wednesday for the Sunday incident, Sgt. Ron Wilke said.
Wilke said the couple recently had broken up, but were still living together. They were in the process of finding separate living arrangements, he said.
Collins is charged with two felonies: criminal sexual assault and unlawful restraint. He also faces misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and telephone harassment.
He was being held Thursday at the DuPage County jail in Wheaton in lieu of a $300,000 bond. No court date has been set.
Wilke said the couple had been living together for several years and had two small children together. He didn't believe the children were home at the time of the assault.
The woman was not incapacitated by the attack and was released from the hospital the same day, Wilke said.
When police searched Collins' home they discovered what they believed were large amounts of marijuana and possibly other drugs, Wilke said. Drug charges are being reviewed by the state's attorney's office, he said.
