Another charged in murder:
A 19-year-old Aurora man is the second person charged in the weekend shooting death of another Aurora man. Raymundo Mendoza of the 300 block of Cedar Street was charged with first-degree murder late Monday in connection with the early Sunday shooting death of 27-year-old Renee Saldana on the city's near southeast side. Police believe Saldana was targeted after threatening Mendoza's life earlier in the day. Also charged with murder in the ongoing investigation is 16-year-old Edgar A. Sanchez, also of Aurora. Police believe he acted as the "lookout." Police have no other suspects in custody, but anticipate others being charged. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 801-6712. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Tipsters may remain anonymous and still collect rewards.
