Algonquin

A Geneva man was accused at 3 p.m. Thursday of shoplifting two football games at Target, 750 S. Randall Road. Kyle P. Douglas, 20, of 2986 Adamson Drive, was charged with retail theft, police said He posted a $100 bond and was released to Elgin police. His next court date is on Aug. 29 in Woodstock.

Two women were arrested at 10:45 p.m. on Thursday on the 100 block of South Randall Road. Robinette Travis, 23, of 9200 Blackstone Ave., Chicago, was charged with attempted obstruction of justice, police said. She remains in the McHenry County jail with a $200 bond and an Aug. 2 court date in Woodstock. Kafi Smith, 21, of 7037 Egglestan Ave., Chicago, was charged with forgery, attempted deceptive practice and attempted obstruction of justice, police said. Smith remains in the McHenry County jail with a $2.500 bond and an Aug. 2 court date.

Carpentersville

Police were led on a high-speed chase that began at 5 a.m. Thursday on Route 25 and ended when the driver pulled into his driveway, officials said. Victor L. Pena, 18, of 1954 Cherokee Road, Carpentersville, was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding and resisting a police officer, police said. He also was issued nine citations, including five for disobeying stop signs and driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. Pena's blood-alcohol concentration level was 0.219 percent, nearly three times the legal limit, police said. He posted a $1,000 bond Friday. His next court date was scheduled for Aug. 16 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

East Dundee

When police went to a home at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, a man there identified himself as an officer with the Illinois State Police. Two other residents in the home also told police they believed he was a police officer, according to a report. Robert A. Ferro, 56, of 216 E. Second St., East Dundee, was charged in court Friday with false impersonation of a police officer, police said. Ferro later told police he made the claim because he thought it might facilitate his call, police said. Ferro posted $500 and was released with an Aug. 10 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Elgin

Two people were charged with drug offenses at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, police said/ Henry G. Behning III, 52 and Noelle C. Allen, 38, both of 162 Summit St. #2, were charged with possession of a controlled substance after 0.3 grams of cocaine was found, police said. Behning also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Behning was issued a bond of $3,000 and the bond for Allen was set at $2,500. Both were taken to the Kane County jail, and their next court dates were set for Aug. 13 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

While police investigated a theft on the 100 block of Kimball Street, a man gave officers a false name, police said. Fingerprints showed the man was Valentin Lara-Valdez, 32, of 214 N. Channing St, Elgin, who was charged with felony obstruction of justice, police said. Lara-Valdez also was wanted on a Cook County warrant, police said. He was unable to post a $1,500 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail. His next court date is on Aug. 9 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
