Algonquin

An Algonquin man was stopped at 11:45 p.m. Sunday at Route 62 and Eastgate Drive, police said. Jason M. Lutsch, 21, of 308 Beach Drive, was charged with reckless driving, police said. Lutsch posted a $100 bond and was released with a Sept. 11 court date in Woodstock.

Carpentersville

A Chicago man was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Friday for fighting on the 600 block of Ivarene Court, police said. However, Larise S. Gordon, 20, of 1240 Emerald, also was wanted on a charge of military desertion, police said. Gordon was taken to the Kane County jail Sunday, awaiting pickup by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Carpentersville police conducted a roadside safety check from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. on June 29 at Route 31 and Hillside Street. Twelve citations were issued, two for driving under the influence, four for no driver's license, four for no vehicle insurance and two for moving violations, police said. One person was arrested who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, police said. The goal of the roadside safety check was to remove intoxicated drivers from the road.

Elgin

An Elgin teen was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop at 9:30 p.m. Sunday on the 400 block of North Aldine Avenue, police said. Martin Villagomez, 17, of 1358 Eagle Road, Elgin, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, police said. A bag of marijuana weighing 16 grams and a bag of cocaine weighing 0.4 grams were found in the car, police said. Villagomez, a high school junior, posted a $1,500 bond Monday and was released. His court date is Aug. 6 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

A homeless man was arrested for threatening a man and his children at a softball game at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. David E. Roberts, 56, was charged with disorderly conduct, intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway and open alcohol in a city park, police said. Roberts was given an Aug. 17 court date in Elgin Branch Court.

Huntley

A Gilberts man was accused of drunken driving on Sunday, police said. Rimantas Kudinskas, 39, of 41W048 Freeman Road, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, following too closely, failure to notify the Illinois Secretary of State of an address change, illegal transportation of alcohol, aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest, police said. Kudinskas remains in the McHenry County jail with a $2,800 bond. His next court date is on July 30 in Woodstock.

South Elgin

Officers checking on a report of a dog locked in a car at 4:30 p.m. Thursday on the 300 block of South Randall Road found the car was stolen, police said. Gary Blank III, 25, of 8N173 Ickenham Lane, Plato Center, was charged with felony theft over $300 and misdemeanor theft on a warrant from Arizona, police said. Blank told police he purchased the car in New Mexico for $25,000, but didn't have a bill of sale. He posted a $1,000 bond and was released from custody with an Aug. 3 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

An Elgin woman was accused of shoplifting $132 worth of merchandise at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kohl's Department Store, 350 Randall Road, police said. Lucy Herrera-Herrera, 24, of 217 S. Melrose Ave., was charged with retail theft, police said. A fraudulent resident alien card and a possible false Social Security card were found on Herrera-Herrera and were destroyed, police said. She posted a $100 bond and was released with an Aug. 27 court date in Elgin.

West Dundee

An Elgin woman was accused of shoplifting $226.37 worth of merchandise at 4 p.m. Sunday from JC Penney in Spring Hill Mall, police said. Lourdes Ortega, 20, of 322 Crystal Ave., Elgin, was charged with felony retail theft, police said. Ortega posted a $1,500 bond Monday and was released with an Aug. 9 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
