Pom clinic

Jacobs Dance Team clinic: The Jacobs High School Pom Dance Team is hosting a pom clinic for girls, kindergarten to eighth grade.

The summer pom/hip hop clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 24-26 at Dundee Middle School, 37W450 Route 72 in West Dundee.

Learn the latest hip-hop moves and pom techniques from these four-time state hip hop champions and first-time state pom dance champions.

Participants should wear comfortable shorts or pants and gym shoes. Bring a water bottle or sport drink.

Cost is $60 and includes T-shirts, poms and daily snacks. For an additional sibling, the cost is $45.

Soccer

Premier Soccer Camps: Youth soccer players from Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, Dundee, Huntley and Hampshire will be able to get their own taste of "British Soccer." Premier Soccer Camps will be running soccer camps Aug. 6-10 at Sunset Park in Lake in the Hills. The coaching director is Dean Smith, who played professional soccer in England with Shrewsbury Town F.C.

Monday will feature technical excellence, Tuesday ball possession, Wednesday attacking and shooting, Thursday defending and Friday will be World Cup Day.

Ages 4-6 attending the Aug. 6-10 session will go from 9 to 10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. to noon. Cost will be $79. For ages 6-15, the Aug. 6-10 session will run from 9 a.m. until noon. Cost will be $109. To register, e-mail soccer. premier@gmail.com, or call Dean Smith at (630) 890-0815.

Tournament

Windy City Cornhole/Bean Bag Tournament: Articulate Promotions presents the first Windy City Cornhole Classic on July 28 at Solider Field in Chicago. Hundreds of fans as well as other baggers across the country will be tossing corn-filled bags to win the Windy City Cornhole Classic Championship Cup.

Whether you are a competitive player, a social player or even a first-time thrower, all are encouraged to come and throw a few bags. There will be a T-shirt give-away for each participant as well as monetary prizes that will be awarded to the top places in each of the various divisions.

Hosted by the Illinois Cornhole Organization, the Windy City Cornhole Classic is the Midwest's largest organized tournament. A portion of the net proceeds will be donated to Fathers Helping Fathers, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping fathers in all aspects of parenting.
